Stop the timer at 1 second! (Windows ME or earlier)
Click your left mouse button on any tile to start a game, and immediately after, click and hold (for safety, do it on the tile you just revealed) the left button and press escape. If you do this fast enough, the timer will be stopped at 1 and nobody will be able to beat your time.

Reveal Where Mines Are (Windows 3.X)
To show all mines do the following:
-Move your cursor to the Window with Minesweeper
-Type in XYZZY then press SHIFT-ENTER then ENTER
A little white dot will come up to the upper-left hand corner of the screen. Watch it.
If you move your cursor over a mine, the dot will turn black. So now you you know where the mines are. If it is white, it is a safe square.
NOTE: The code does not work on Windows 95 and Windows NT.
