Now years after this game was released, I have once again picked it up and began to play again. Replay is one of the main selling points on this game.
Graphically, I would say it is lacking alot, which can be partially fixed by using the expansion pack, but then only adding a notch up on the resolution.
Gameplay I know can be repetitive, but I for one do get sick of playing games where you need to remember 50 different button mappings just to stay alive. It's nice to just kick back, connect to a friends server, and click some monsters to death once in a while.
Sound wise, Diablo II is about as perfect as you can get. The ambiance the background music creates is great, and the regular gameplay sound effects are also superb.
Overall, this game does lack in graphics yes, but as we all should realise graphics are not everything. I for one still like to go play some good old text based RPG games. A game is only good if the gameplay is good, not because of eye candy.
