Well, to me the Tekkens (3 and later) seem a lot more intuitive, and not just because of pulling back to block. The moves and combos of Tekken make more sense to me, are easier to find and learn. Perhaps because I spent a lot more time practising Tekken (I only played VF4 for a few days, and not very intensively), but also because I found VF4 a bit too quick and "busy" graphically, so that I couldn't always tell that an attack had been blocked, or an evasion successful. Its fighting is more fluid that Tekken's, but its indicators are not as clear.
VF4 is a very pretty game, but I think it has less character than Tekken, is less accessible and I can't stand having to push a button to block. (I'm very pro-Tekken, though, having learned to love it since the third game in the series, so I don't claim complete objectivity when comparing the two games)
