F-zero X is easily the best futuristic racer on the N64. Each race is a heart pounding experience through roller coaster style tracks, with 29 rivals all wanting to take you out.
The graphics are not excellent, but they don't need to be. The game runs ultra smoothly with no slow down even in four player splitscreen. The tracks have a severe lack of detail but there is some variety.
In terms of gameplay, F-zero X is very, very fast. It is also extremely addictive in multi-player and time trial. Unlike Wipeout and Extreme-G, you don't spent half the race scraping the walls, instead, you get to focus on taking each corner through the best possible line. Its gaming at its best.
Overall, if you can look past the games shabby graphics, F-zero will astound you with its gripping pace. Highly Recommended.
