The Mafia for PS2 is a dissapointment for me personally. I guess having to follow the franchise of GTA, and thinking that this would be a retro GTA type of game I was being foolish. Don't get me wrong I think Mafia has a lot to offer someone who is new to the genre of, "Gangster games," but most gamers were introduced to GTA on the playstation years ago and I think they expect a little more from these games that they just can't give.
The game is a good idea with the old school cars and the realistic feel of the missions. But, the crappy taxi missions where moving from each area of the map are dulled by the unnesscery load times is ludacrist. The driving has improved from the PC but the graphics have taken a turn for the worse in the platform translations.
To sum it up Mafia is a good title released a little to late. I know its not supposed to be a GTA, but I have seen what Rockstar can do and want that kind of freedom in all my so called, "gangster games."
