Dungeon Lords is not a finished game, that's what all reviews about this game should start with. It just isn't finished. With that out of the way, Dungeon Lords is a RPG made by D.W. Bradley, of Wizardry fame. It boasts colourful 3D graphics, in the same way as Gothic or World of Warcraft, and a free-form style of play where you have the whole world at your fingertips. You're set on a mission to stop an impending war that could tear down the kingdom, and by solving quests, finding people and generally being a good guy, you'll fight (and by fight, I really mean fight, real-time, all the time) your way through the land, all the while gathering better equipment, gold and experience points. The character development system is really good and the world is large and interesting. Unfortunately, the world is also devoid of any detail. Cities are empty, buildings lack furniture and there's nothing in the game that isn't directly connected to the main plot. Why? The game was pushed out the door way too soon. Therefore there's no auto-map, no character customization, no in-game music and plenty of weird bugs. With a few more months in development this game could have been a very solid RPG. As it is now, it's a very expensive beta. With a few more patches, maybe this will be a recommendable buy? Who knows.
