God of War reminded me a lot fo Devil May Cry although the backgrounds and epic camera views did impress me much during gameplay (especially some fo the water effects) and most of the moves were much easier to pull off in the heat of battle. I did expect more from the title though and was left wanting more (maybe that is the point).
First of all, expect only 8-10 hours of gameplay and don't expect to be doing any character building except for a few upgrades. The red orbs, shiny objects, and puzzles looked like a carbon copy of DMC. Don't these guys have any original ideas for ameplay? Oh wait, the storyline was awesome and epic even down to where the hero's(?) weapons came from.
The controls were great as well and not hard to pick up at all. I was unimpressed by the lack of boss fights, but satisfied with finishing the game.
Where I fell off the God of War bandwagon was replay value. God of War is like an interactive movie that once you see it, you are done. RENT this one, you'll be done in a few days.
