With an increasing number of World War 2 based fps on the market it is hard to determine witch one to purchase. Medal of Honor, Battlefield 1942, and Hidden and Dangerous 2 to name a few are all good games in their own rights, but arguably the best of the World War 2 based game is, Call of Duty! The single player campaign all be it rather short, was extremely intense. Germans popping out of every where!!! Trying to halt the allied advance! The Russian level in Stalingrad where you rush the town square was almost exactly like the scene from the film "Enemy at the Gates".
Since single play is over before you know it, what more can you get from this game? Multiplayer! With several Multiplayer game types (DM, TDM, R, S&D, BEL) you'll be able to spend hours upon hours playing with your friends. There where some initial Bugs with multiplayer, including bunny hoping and belly flopping, that have since been fixed by a version 1.4 patch which added a total of 3 more maps to further increase your enjoyment.
Now there where some draw backs to this game, many addressed by the patches that activation has since released. The shortness of single player campaign was a draw back for me, I never wanted it to end, but I finished it off in just over 1 day. And the fact that the graphics are being rendered by the quake 3 engine. So they aren't the best, but they aren't all that bad either. Where this game has me sold is just the pace of the action, fast and furious!
