The story line in ND4SUG is that you were way too successful in the first game, so you got taken out by a rival racer.  Now you are forced to fly to a new city and start from scratch.  New to Underground two is the ability to fully explore the city, no longer do you have to use your cars navigation system to select races, you get to drive all over the massive city looking for them as indicated on you map!  Now this is all well and good until you have to start searching a 1 block area to find the race start, which could be under the overpass, or on top of it, so depending where you came from and where the race marker is, you may have to spend another 5 minuets or so looking for it.  Once you start winning some races you can begin to "pimp" your ride.  New to underground 2 widening kits, sound systems, hydraulics, and of course spinners.

As for the game play its self.  Little has changed, as long as you keep you engine modifications up to pace as you unlock them, you should have very little trouble winning races, although the drifting races feel different from the first one, the AI has improved significantly in drifting and will generally out score you by 10,000 points.  Graphics leave a lot to be desired.  A screen shot of the game will look Great, but It did not run smoothly on either PC on the primary ADM pc frame rates were steady, but there was noticeable choppiness when driving around corners.

If you have played Need for speed Underground 1, play that again, if you haven't played either, look to buy Need for speed Underground 1.  I bought Need for speed Underground 2 used for $20 and I feel even that was too much.  Final verdict I've given Need for speed Underground 2 a 6/10 it has potential like many EA games, but it needs a super computer and or several patches to make it work right.  If you own a PS2 XBOX or GC rent the game for that system it should be more enjoyable than on the PC.
