Grandia.
This is probably third on my list of top RPGs, (behind Final Fantasy 7 and Skies of Arcadia if you were curious), I got Grandia back at it's release in '99 and loved every minute of it! The major selling point is that it has the single best Battle system ever seen in an RPG, backed up by a good, if not particularly emotional storyline.
The Graphics, although dated now, were great back in '99 and are still usable today with no problem. The Sound on the other hand is fantastic, from Lucasarts, it is always full of energy and appropriate. The Battle music doesn't get repetative as with some games, and area music provides a great setting. The sound effects too are top notch, the noises made whil interacting with scenery (another plus point) all add to the depth of the game.
I've not played any of the follow-ups unfortunately, but I would very much like to at some point. Overall this is a fantastic game, severely underrated.
