Let me put this game in perspective: I purchased this title hoping for something to tide me off till Doom 3.  Now that I've played it, I don't even know if I'll buy Doom III.  It's that good.

GRAPHICS: The game offers the best graphics to date.  The outdoor environments are absolutelly stunning, with realistic landscapes and jungles.  There are also smooth transitions to indoor environments that feature fog, dynamic lighting, and real time shadows that make this game a real treat for the eyes.  My favorite parts of the graphics have to be the water and steam effects.  Absolutelly fantastic!

Unfortunatelly, all of this eyecandy means if you don't have a powerful computer, the game will run like a three-legged pig.  If you have the processing horse power (2+ GHz, modern video card) however, it runs smooth.

SOUND: Sound is done well.  Music matches the game well, sound effects and voice overs are good, and there's enough variety to keep it from being repetative.  My one gripe about sound is some of the mercenary reactions to spotting you seem out of place.  When you hear a merc yell "I better go get help" and then say "Oh, must have been nothing", it make you take a step back.

GAMEPLAY: The best part of the game is by far the gameplay.  There are multiple paths to your objectives.  And by multiple, I don't mean 2 hallways, I mean you have the freedom to achieve your goals in almost any manner you choose.  You can sneak around killing no one, you can snipe, you can run in guns blazing, you can grab a vehicle and go on a motorized rampage, you can play silent assassin.  Mix that with numerous paths to your objectives while in outdoor levels and you've got great replayability.

The enemies are also extremely well done.  There are only 2 basics types(genetic experiments and mercs), but within those two groups are enough variety to make play fun and interesting.  Snipers require different tactics to take out than soldiers or workers or scientists or shielded guards etc etc.  Mix vehicles, stationary guns, and monster apes into the mix, and you've got a great amount of variety on your hands.

CONCLUSION: If you like first person shooters, this game is a must have.
