Ah, No Mercy. This game was probablly the best wrestling game ever made, and one of the best on the Nintendo 64, and get this, I do not even like wrestling. The only wrestling that I do like is the video games.
This game has a huge collection of wrestlers, well atleast there were a lot more than I though that there were. There are different wrestlers from all different classes. You can also creat your own wrestler, which the customization is pretty deep, so if you enjoy little things like that then you are set.
The single player, is a whole bunch of short single player stories, where you take a wrestler of your choice (or your own wrestler that you created) and you go for all the titles. This although short, makes the game last for a long while. The fact though that you can create your own Pay-per View match, and customize it for hours is pretty dang cool. You can have all the matched that you see on the TV without having to pay 20 bucks.
The multiplayer is so much fun as well. The fact that you can have four people wrestling at the same time, is just too dang cool. This game is just a blast with your friends. The only fighting multiplayer that i found better than this game is Def Jam Fight For New York. Once agian in this part of the game, the customizations are endless as well, and you can wrestle with your created wrestler or as you favorite allstar.
The game controls quite well. The fact that you do not use the analog stick was in my opnion a good call, because I think that the D-pad does just fine in controling your wrestler. The C-Buttons are rarely used except for when running around and jumping in and out of the match, and the a and b buttons work just fine. The game once again shines here, like it does in all the catagories.
This game has great sound as well. All the players enterances are here, and even though I got a little sick of hearing: "Can you smell, what the Rock is cooking?" a thousand times, the fact that it is in there is cool. Even though there is still reading during the single player stories.
This is the best wrestling game of all time in my opinion, and probablly will be ever. It seems that these days wrestling games are hit or miss. Being ok or sucky, it is good to know that you can always go back to an old pastime and favoirte, to get your wrestling needs satisfied. The fun that you will have with your friends is endless. That is why I give WWF No Mercy a perfect 10/10.
