There is a good chance that since you are reading this review you have seen the movie The Godfather or you are at least familiar with the story. Well the game puts you in the shoes of a Corleone gun for hire. You start out doing small time jobs but then you eventually work your way up the ladder as you follow along the path of the movie. Some of the things that you do in this game are scenes from the movie and sometimes you will be doing things that are referenced in the movie, yet you never see.

The storyline is great. You follow along on some of the greatest scenes in movie history and you get put in it. For example one of your missions is to deliver a certain 'package' to a certain 'person' to make him reconsider a business proposition given to him earlier on in the game. If you have seen the movie than there is a good chance that you know what I am talking about. If you haven't than man are you in for a good time.

The game has driving, shooting on foot, and stealth missions. Now even though the stealth missions are more of a die-repeat-go a little further-die-repeat kind of thing all three main ways to play the game control quite well. The on foot targeting is a little bit of a problem at times but other than that it is all-good. The driving controls pretty well also. Not to mention going around town and 'persuading' local business to join up with the Corleone family is quite a blast.

Graphically this game looks great. The characters look like they came right out of the movie. They are pretty much flawless. I give EA props on creating the game with such good graphics and the cutscenes look just as good as they do in-game.

The sound in this game is something to brag about. The bullets, the cars, and yes the voiceovers. EA rallied up James Cann, Robert Duvall, and the late Marlon Brando. Al Pacino's voice was not used for this game but the guy who did his voice did not do a terrible job at all.

Overall The Godfather is a very fun game. The action is fast and the storyline is top notch giving you things from the movie and totally new things to do. The only real complain that I have is that the cars are just not all that fun to drive even though the re-creation of New York City look amazing.

Pros:
+ Play along with the movie
+ Great graphics
+ Everything controls really well
+ James Cann, Robert Duvall, and Marlon Brando all lend their voice
+ Extorting people is fun!

Cons:
- Driving the old and slow moving cars just isn't that much fun

9/10
