Story: The game story focuses in on a character that you take missions from in GTA 3 named Toni. You most likely remember him as the guy that lives with his mom, well this time around he is ready for action after being out of it for quite some time. It is you and Salvatore Leone, the head of the Leone family, and together you try to take over Liberty City (also known as the worst place to live in America).
Well all the gangs that you knew from GTA 3 are back and roaming the streets of Liberty City. The missions are fun and full of different things to do. The game story is a typical Mafioso story but in my opinion that is a good thing. The story does a better job taking you to all three parts of the city than GTA 3 did, which did a very poor job at showing us what Shorside Vale was really all about. However you do get to see this part of the city more in this game. The sad part is that the game only lasts about 20 hours, which I know for most games seems like a long time, but when it's a GTA game that is actually quite short. The fact that motorcycles are here which is cool, but they left out the PSP's multiplayer and air vehicles. The budget price of 20 dollars really helps you forget about these things.

Graphics: This game is dark, really, really dark. This game does not have the graphics of San Andreas, which it really should have, but it doesn't. Like I said before, this game is really dark. The character models are gloomy, and sometimes, it is impossible to see what is going on if you are in a dark spot during the nighttime. It is kind of hard to see how much money you have and how much ammo you have left which is a bummer as well. Even though it is a fun game the graphics are not the strong point of GTA Liberty City Stories

Sound: GTA has always been known for its voice acting, sadly none of that shows here. In GTA 3 they had somewhat big names play the characters that are in this game, but the big names were not in this game. I wonder why that was, but the voice acting is still pretty great though. The radio stations are really weak and the only one that is somewhat bearable in my opinion is the talk radio station. Other than that though the sound effects are actually quite good.

Controls: Did you play San Andreas? If the answer to that question is yes than you know exactly how this game controls, and all though it is sometimes hard to lock onto the things that you want to lock on to the game controls pretty well besides that. The vehicles in my opinion control great.

Lasting Appeal: For people that haven't played GTA 3 to death, there is a chance that there is some replay value here for you. However if you are like me and have spent countless hours driving around Liberty City already, the bigger question is do you want to play through the story again? If the answer to that is no, than there really isn't much replay value except for the few side missions not in GTA 3.
