This is an incredible game. I fell in love with racing games when PGR2 came out. I was leary about this game due to the fact that this was a simulator game vs an arcade game like PGR2 is.
I was not dissappointed however. It definitely is a touch harded due to the real car physics, but that doesn't detract from the game at all. The physics are incredible. The graphics are amazing too. They might not rival GT4, but they look really incredible, especially on a HDTV. The soundtrack in my opinion is terrible. It was the first thing to be shut off when I started playing. Thankfully they have the custom soundtrack option, so that fixes that problem.
One of the single greatest things about this game is the fact that it has a driving line for you to use. The line will show you the best line to take through the track and it will dynamically change colors so you know whether you are going to fast or not. If you are coming too hot into a corner it will turn yellow and then red letting you know you need to slow down to be able to successfully make the corner. As you get better you can turn this racing line off and get a difficulty bonus when you race. I think it is great for people to be able to use to allow them to get used to the game and tracks first.
Another great thing about this game is the fact that there is something for everyone. It keeps things in laymans terms for the most part so a non-gearhead could understand them and know what is going on with their car as they tune it. However if you are a gearhead and just love cars there is more than enough to keep you excited for weeks on end. You can basically tweak EVERYTHING about your car. Since this is a simulator, all this WILL make a difference on the car in the races.
You can't do a review without touching on the 100 layers per side of decal lov'in. You have up to 100 layers that you can put on each side of the car allowing you to make a completely unique car that just shows all your style. When you take your ride online, all your decals, paint job, and all your hard earned and added tweaks will be shown in all their glory.
All in all, if you like racing games, get this game! You won't be let down!
