First of all, this game isn't for REAL hunters. Ex: The animals are tagged by a red dot, no matter how far away, you always see a red dot. The bugles and all items other than weapons are useless as well because the animals ALWAYS ATTACK. In that sense, the hunting is really not fun when you just have to walk to the animal, cap it while it attacks you and pick it up.
However, if you enjoy shooting animals that fight back, this game is pretty good. I really was looking forward to hunting the beasts but having them hunt you works too. The controls become frustrating when you are trying to shoot an attacking animal. You kind of just want to give up. Plus a lot of the animals look stupid. YOU CALL THAT A WOLF?
All in all this game is worth renting just for the sheer thrill of attack zone (shoot and kill tactics). Its pretty fun to hunt big game as well, like Rhinos and Kodiak bears. My only complaints are how unrealistic it is, frustrating controls during attack, and lastly I wish it was more of a stealth hunt with a probable chance that you would be attacked, not always. Its not too bad, but not too fun.
