The true definition of being a game.
Have you ever (during your childhood, or else) moved paper figures on sheets of paper that symbolized some great battlefields of war, and any of your great soldiers defeating each great other...?
Now, thanks to your GBA and the sequel of great-selling Advance Wars game you can do it, but better, greater, more challenging.
Story: 9/10
The Black Hole Army with Sturm as a operation head returns. Reunition of four continents and four different armies known as Orange Star, Blue Moon, Yellow Comet and Green Earth come to life. They organise a counterattack and want to save their countries.
It may be not original, but the cutscenes in the game are funny, the story is easy-followed. You will be overwhelmed and you won't be able to live without Andy, Nell, or even Hawke (the Black Hole CO).
Gameplay: 10/10
First, in numbers:
The game consists of over 30 long missions in 4 campaigns, and there is even a harder campaign (so that's 60)
In other modes, like War Room (next 100 missions) or Versus, Link you can play alone against the AI or with a friend on one GBA, or by the link.
You control one of many CO's that produce troops, achieve their goals, capture airports, ports, bases, HQ's, cities.
Each HQ has special powers, that can be used by charging the CO Energy (defeating or be defeated).
For completing each mission or either War Room or Campaign, you receive coins to exchange in shop for new CO's, maps, CO's colour change, modes of play.
I can assume, this will whirl you for over 50 hours minimum.
Graphics and Sound&Music: 9/10
The animated graphics are on the best category. Troops, scenes of battles, menus are clean, good-drawed, and help you play the game.
Sounds are like the original ones, the voices of terrains, machines, tanks can cheat you as the real.
There are many different music in this game. Some are calm and quiet, and some are nice and soft, some are of other genre.
Overall Score: 10/10
If you are a fan of strategies, or you aren't, buy this game.
