I'd like to start off by saying that I've never been a Resident Evil fan. I beat RE3 but found weapon inventory and camera angles turned me away from the series.
Then Resident Evil 4 came out and I have to say this is one of the best games I've ever played. It's simply amazing what they've done with the series.
Graphics : I love RE4's gritty graphics as it suits the game story. The look of the enviroments and characters is among the best for this generation. No complants here.
Sound : This game deserves to be played on DD Prologic II and it dosen't disapoint. The voice acting was well done as was the music and SFX.
Gameplay : In reality the controls have only been tweeked from the older RE games, but what difference. The camera is now over your right shoulder and with that your guns have a laser sight for pin-point aiming. Also your inventory is carryed in a suitcase so you always have your items on hand. During the game you will sometimes have 2 characters but thankfully it's not a bad thing. and lastly there's a store now were you can buy weapons first aid spray and upgrades for the different guns. All in all the changes have made RE4 a more fast paced and action packed survival horror.
Story : RE4 has a good fast paced story that has a few twists that you don't see in a typical survival horror game. But in my tradition I'll leave it to you to discover what happens.
Overall: This is a great new kind of survival horror game that takes you out of the slow backtracking games that might not apeal to non-survival horror gamers like me and gives the series a much broder apeal. My hats off to Capcom for such a great new take on the series.
