If you enjoy real driving simulations this game is heaven. If you are mainly after arcade style action you will not be happy. This is a serious rally simluation, to achieve success you must actually drive the car effectively. The enjoyment comes from performing a great drive.
The main driving areas are :
Rally School
Takes you from basic to advanced driving lessons. A great way to improve because each lesson has an evaluation that judges the result and shows you how you did.
Quick Rally
Pick the country and the course you want. Also choose the weather conditions.
You first have to win a rally section in Rally Season to unlock all the options for that country.
Rally Season
Complete a whole rally season. The three levels are rookie, professional or champion.
Select a level of damage ranging from safe to realistic.
It would take a long time to win
at champion level with realistic damage because you would need to be an incredibly good driver.
Richard Burns Challenge
This is where you compete with the Richard Burns ghost car.
Try to beat him at the rally school course or six other stages.
Throughout there are a lot of options. In the car tune area there are detailed setups ranging from the diff to gears. For example in the suspension area you have options for dampers, springs ,geometry and rollbar. You can spend a lot of time trying out setups.
The objective is not the rallying but to become a great rally driver, so if you want simple rally fun go with another rally package.
