Metroid: Zero Mission marks the second appearance of Samus Aran on the GameBoy Advance system. I own both games, Zero Mission and Fusion, and have completed both with a rate of 100% multiple times, however there are numerous difference between these two games that may prevent everyone from enjoying both. For instance, Zero Mission, like most previous Metroid titles, is not story-driven and is essentially self-paced with an mild emphasis on the direction you are intended to go in. On the other hand, Fusion is heavily story-driven and is fast paced, constantly urging you from one location to another with little time to admire the scenery. Though these are opposite concepts, they both work well with the given mission, and simply reading the background of each of the missions will confirm that. The updated graphics and sound for Zero Mission bring it to equivalence with Fusion, so you will undoubtedly be impressed by the varied and detailed backgrounds, the fluent movement of Samus and her opponents along with the graphical splendor of their design, and veterans of the series will recognize the sci-fi musical scores which are, at the necessary moments, contrasted by the creepy or fast paced beats. Overall these are both excellent games, the very best for the GBA, and I give them both 10's.
