This is an extremely addictive game. For those who like real time strategy games like Warcraft, Command and Conquer, and Age of Empires, this is a game that you will enjoy.
Based off of the Hasbro board game, this version of Axis and Allies lets you command the armies of World War II. Unlike most RTS games, you do not have to harvest for minerals, or get gold out of mines and that sort of thing. You get resources and economy over time. So basically, if you can live long enough, you can afford to buy more buildings or soldier regiments.
This game can get very hard on some missions. There is a tutorial built into the game to help new players get familiar with how to be a good Axis and Allies strategist.
One such benefit of the tutorial is to help players practice the hit and fade. This is one major reason why I like this game. The hit and fade is an attack where you go on the offensive and attack a target with the intention of either weakening them, or drawing them into an attack somewhere else. This would not work well if it were not for the ability to heal and re-arm your soldiers within your support areas. What this means, is you can now attack a target, and retreat to get strong again. When you are strong again, you do the hit and fade again. You can do this until you win that part of the map. Then just do that again where you wish and you should complete the mission in no time.
I do say that there are some glitches in the game (sadly). Every once in a while, the trees seem to dance as the computer tries to decide if they are standing or if they have fallen to the ground during battle. They are minor, but the game stops for a second as the computer dances the trees. It can get annoying when you are playing an intense mission. But, with such a good game, I guess it comes close to perfect.
