Final Fantasy X was the first FF to be released on the PS2, and it wasn't a dissapointment.  This game really lived up to what it was trying to do and to me, its one of my favorite PS2 games and also just one of my favs.

Storyline:A good game must have a good storyline, and FFX lives up to that.  They storyline is something that keeps the gamer playing.  In FFX, the story is easy to follow and very good.  All the places that you go to and all the characters you meet stay with you and all the baddies that get in your way you will hate-like Seymour.  In the beginning, the game is told by the main character, Tidus, which means that everything you are playing has happened.  Near the end of the game, the story switches to the present, and changes the the game.  After this, you lose the great storyline and you end up just gathering strength to fight the final boss or go on side quests.

Sound:Once again, the audio in the series lives up to what it does best.  The audio in this game is marvelous.  Everypiece of music fits everything, all the cheerful melodies and evil tones come together.  Everyplace has its own backround music, along with most of the main characters.  Since this game is a Japanese one, it is dubbed, and you know what that means.  Square though did good on who to have play who.  Tidus being a cheerful guy and Seymour being this baddy with a voice you want to punch him for.

Presentation:This game is Long, and im not talking about 30 hours of playing long.  There is alot to do here and alot of things that can sometimes throw you off.  The good thing about this is that it gives you tutorials such as how to play Blitzball and how to use the Sphere Grid.  It may take awhile to knowing how to do what, but once you've got the hang of it, it isnt too hard.  The bad thing though is that there is alot of weapons and items, most of which are sometimes useless.  Once you have, lets say, the "break damage limit" skill, then you dont really care about your other attack weapons.

Graphics:The best thing about this game is its graphics-one of the best on the PS2.  Even the cover of the box it comes in has good showing.  When you aren't in any cutscene and you are just walking around, the entire place are very detailed.  The character system is astonishing.  The aeon summons were great looking.  Though they lose their touch later in the game and you might choose to go with the shorter cutscene.  Great looking characters and creatures.  The monsters are weak when they arent ferocious looking and terrifying when hideous.  Things like the pot goblin to Nemesis.  The FMV's are stunning.  Those graphics have to be the best ive seen compared to most games-just my opinion.  Simply put, this game gets a high score on graphics.

Gameplay:In a game, the gameplay must be good or the game itself is weak.  In FFX, the gameplay somewhat, ties into everything.  The TBS(turn based system) gives some sense of intensity, depending on the music and the area.  For the game itself, the turn based system isn't the best way to battle, but it does make up for it.  It ties in good with many things, you can make many decisions, watch what you choose, have three people in battle, and it goes good with the sphere grid.  You get experience points after every battle, but you dont "gain a level", all you do is get an extra go for the sphere grid, where you can move to another spot, depending on how many "level points" you have.  You can learn new abilities, and have different people learn different stuff.  Though once you have all 7 characters in your party.  Its hard to keep everyone at equal stats.

Lasting Impression:40+hours is what you can put into this game, and to me its all worth it.  There are many side quests and missions to go along with it.  Once you have done everything in the game, you can feel a sigh of relief, knowing that you are finally done.  This game is worth playing more than once, and will have the same vibe as the first play through, and you can pick up what you couldn't before, but you will have to start a new game.

(All of these are of my Opinion)

Graphics-9.9
Presentation-9.4
Sound-9.5
Storyline-9.5
Gameplay-9.3
Lasting Impression-9.5

Overall-9.5

This is a must have for PS2 owners and a very very very higly recommended rent for anyone who doesnt want to own it-Though play it quick before the due date.  Once again does Final Fantasy live up to its name and hopefully it will keep getting better.  With one of the best graphics today and a great playing involvment, this is something you should consider getting.
