Killzone was hyped as the PS2's "Halo Killer". This is no Halo but that does not mean this is not a good game. There are no vehicles but there are a number of machines you can man and the 1st person mode actually shows you climb into chairs or up ladders. This brings a sense of realism and depth to the game. The worlds can be beautiful at times and then apocalyptic at others. These are some of the best graphics the PS2 may ever see. You have a choice of five characters that work as a team to play with, a leader, an assasin, a demolition man, and a Hellghast soldier. The Hellghast are trying to take over the world that is similar to Earth. These are super human beings and it usually takes a few bullets to put one down. Storyline and cinematics are some of the best. There are a number of different levels but the levels trick you by making things look the same so you get turned around and get lost. You can carry up to 3 weapons with some grenades. And some of these weapons have a lot of power while others can be used for precision or stealth kills. Melee combat looks pretty good and doesn't break the flow of the game as much as other 1st person shooters melee modes. But let's not forget what this game is all about, the multiplayer. With online mode for up to 16 players and 2 player split-screen this one will keep you and your friends busy for hours. If you have a PS2 and are looking for your next 1st person fix, this is a solid title that should keep you busy for awhile. Check it out before you Buy it. 4/5
