Metroid 5 is the incredible reintroduction of Metroid to the Nintendo consoles (Metroid Fusion was Metroid 4, hence, this must be Metroid 5 for all of you confused out there... remember, number has nothing to do with chronology).
I very much hesitate to call this an FPS, preferring to call it and FPA... First Person Adventure. Sure, while there is shooting from a first person prospective, a person playing this game thinking it will be an FPS will be very surprised at the depth of gameplay. Exploration and puzzle solving are a crucial part of Metroid Prime. How many FPS games can you say that about?
The graphics are incredible. Case in point; just stand on top of your ship and watch the raindrops fall on your arm cannon... incredible.
The gameplay is excellent. The play control is very intuitive. You will learn it in no time.
The story is great... just something to get you going. It doesn't bog you down like it does in Metroid 4 (Fusion)... Prime really has that classic "OK Samus... you're on your own." feel to it.
This is the best game for the Nintendo Gamecube and the second best game that I have ever had the pleasure of playing. This is bound to go down as one of the all-time classics of gaming.
