Top Spin is one of the best and most realisitic tennis game to date on the X-box. You could play as the worlds top seeded tennis stars such as Anna Kournilova, Martina Hingis, Pete Sampras or could create a character
like Maria Sharapova. The game offers
singles and double matches. Only single matches are offered in the career mode, but a doubles match in the career mode would of brought another feauture to the game. So you could volley, smash, or forehand your way to be ranked #1 in doubles so as in the singles competition.
The game play is fun, fast and intense. Especially, when the score is at 40-40 nobody wants to lose the crucial game to a double fault or hitting the play out.
In the career mode you character starts out as a rookie trying to make a name for him or herself. You need to start winning and training immedialtey if want a shot to be called
a " Legend". The game also shows player stats so you know how many aces you served, how many forehands were winners, and how many matches you won. You could even select the type of skill you achieve when you get better do you want a faster tennis player or a tennis player that who has a stronger serve...you make the decisions.
There are also sponsorships for you to challenge and make more money to buy more competition clothing for your tennis player and be able to edit your player accordingly to see how you see fit.
In the career mode, there are the grand slams tournaments that if you become the victor of the tornament this is where you get the most ranking points and the most cash rewarded for your hard work and training. This is the definitely the most satisfying win because the opponents that you will find here are more difficult and challenge you and make you pay for your mistakes. So you better win the key sets or they might fight for the comeback win and knock your world ranking a couple of notches.
Overall, this game will keep you busy until the cows come home. This is a definatley a keeper...a must buy if your a tennis fan or even a fan of Anna Kournikova she looks damn good in her 2 piece blue outfit. This will surely give you the adrenaline high of pro tennis.
