Gameplay: Diabo was the first full version game I ever bought and played. I must say that I spent many, many hours playing the - back then - intense battles. I began playing the single player, but before I had finished the catacombs I realized the internet could be used and got going on that. Online is where it is at, in my point of view, in this game. The battle system is fun and all, but it's not all that deep, and I found it a bit tedious levling up a lot. Online, with other players aiding you, you could bash your way to Hell much faster and have a blast. A very early form of the Diablo II battle system, but fun in it's own right, well worth a look. 8/10
Graphics: It's tough to rate this category because this game is so old. Some parts of the game were beautiful, others not so much. In the end, it was definately a decent work of art. 7/10
Story: Pretty simple story here. Kill Diablo. There are side story's that go along wiht the single player, and a few that stick around in multiplayer, though they aren't much. Then again this game was'nt meant at all for story. 5/10
Sound: Gotta love the town theme. Eerie dungeon music, though not a lot of variety. Excellent sound effects for its day. The sound might be the best addition to this game outside the core gameplay. 9/10
Overall: Diablo is a classic game that got the industry moving in the right direction. It was a blast way back then, and worth a look today, if only to see where newer games like Diablo II and Dungeon Siege developed from. 8/10
