Let's start at the top: this isn't the boardgame. While I think that would have made this game EVEN better, it still rocks on its own. In what looks like a crazy year for RTS titles, the core gameplay of A&A is awesome. TimeGate's signature supply areas and group control features make it a lot more fun than similar RTS like C&C Generals. The graphics are fair, but the campaign mode and all the WWII battles are awesome. D-Day is insane - all hell breaks loose. Random skirmishes are also great, when you don't want to jump into the whole storyline. I've played around with the map editor a bit and WOW - you can do nearly ANYTHING. I can't wait to really get into making my own maps/battles.
The game's a bit tough to get used to, and the AI really gets under my skin (just keeps coming back for more!). All in all, it's pretty challenging and I'm still on 'normal' mode.
Overall, I'm really glad I picked up this game and I can't seem to stop playing it. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys WWII games, wargames, RTS games, etc.
