For those thinking this is just a handheld version of the original Super Mario 64, you a mistaken. Super Mario 64 DS adds a slightly different story line and a completly new user interface. Adding 3 new playable characters and more stars per stage gives people some incentive who have previously played the game some 8 years ago. Spliting up the abilities among characters makes the game a little more interesting. Mini-games and a multiplayer mode give players something to do when they get bored of adventure mode. The only problems I had with the game is that the camera angles get a little annoying to control and it takes a while to get comfortable with the touchpad. Also I found that some of the added stars were really weak additions just used as filler (like the 5 silver stars and switch stars). Overall, this is the best game released for the Nintendo DS thusfar, and highly recommend it to everyone who has ever enjoyed platformers.
