After drooling over the screenshot of this game for months, I finally got my change to play through it. My initial reaction was that was game was truly spectacular and definitely the most frightening I have ever played. The attention to detail was phenomenal. From the distorted views through glass, heat and steam, to the fluid movement of random automated machines working on the Mars base. Although about half way through the game I felt some deja vu because the environments and graphics used for the levels were all the same. I grew too familiar to the trend of moving slowly forward and waiting for a monster to pop up just to shoot it down. Also the game did feel a little short after I played through it all. All in all I would say this game does set the benchmark for shadowing and use of light reflections, and certainly the scariest game I will ever play. I have played all of the Silent Hill games, and this one surpasses that entire series.
