NFS2 is a great game. Probably one of the bests in the genre. I'm never a hardcore racing game fan but this series have turned me into one. The visuals, sounds, gameplay and control are outstanding. I completed the game yesterday.
The race is fun. No luck or what so ever, everything is down to your driving skills. So the more you drive and learn every curve and bumps on the track, you'll get better. So it's fair. The AI opponent cars are competitive but not insanely unfair.
Tuning and customizing the car are fun. I spent most of the time making my cars look great. This is definitely one of the reasons why this series rock!
But there are some downsides of the game that can be improved. First the game is too short. I played for one week and that's it!
Second it should have more tracks with different characteristics of racing. All the racing areas in the game are quite indifferent.
Third, MORE cars and MORE ways to tune them.
Fourth, I don't like the Street X and Drag mode. These are the only two racing that can frustrate gamers because...well it's not fun at all.
Fifth, well I don't really notice but there seems to be some storyline involved but it sucks.
Somehow this game suffers a little slowdown compared with Burnout3. The speed sensation has dropped.
