Final Fantasy has created a proud tradition of delivering brilliant games; we all have high expectations whenever a new game in the series is released. Final Fantasy X not only meets those expectations but raises the bar.
The first thing to hit you is the beautiful graphics, the cut scenes are absolutely stunning and the in-game visuals don't let it down either, this game is a treat for your eyes. The audio is pretty typical Final Fantasy stuff and works well to create that feel we are so used to.
For much of the game you will find yourself exploring various locations, walking around is responsive and smooth, though the characters do seem to have a slow motion feel to them, however this does not take anything away from the game. As usual you exploring will be suddenly interrupted with various little visual effects when enemies attack, the game then switches to the battle zone.
The fighting is turn based and has some awesome features, such as overdrives. These are special moves that sometimes come in the form of little mini games, where you may need to hit certain buttons as they appear on screen etc. Doing so correctly will allow your characters to perform special moves which do extreme damage to your opponents. Real time battle fans may not like it, but its quality stuff and super fun.
Character development looks pretty complex at first, though the in game tutorials will guide you through the process. It allows you to upgrade your character in various ways which will become very important to your success in the game.
This game has a huge addiction factor, and will consume a lot of your time. The brilliant story line and pure fun to be had will ensure your playing it for a while to come.
Final Fantasy X is a marvelous title, which oozes quality in all departments of the game. It's a pure classis and a must have title for any serious gamer. The Final Fantasy series has another jewel in its ever growing crown.
