Forget whether or not you like Vin or his movies.  Then clear your mind of all those other movie to video game translations that seriously failed.  This game is very, very good.

The story is set before the events of The Chronicles of Riddick and Pitch Black.  You play Riddick, the most wanted man in the universe, as he attempts to escape from the deadliest triple max prison in the galaxy; Butcher Bay.

The first thing that I must say is that this is probably the best looking Xbox game available.  The graphics are truly amazing, rendering ultra realistic visuals, I was literally blown away.  The audio keeps the feeling alive with awesome music and sound effects which really capture the gloomy feel of Butcher Bay.  The voice acting is first rate; Vin Diesel is here along with other big names, such as Xhibit.

The game itself is a great mix of Splinter Cell style stealth and awesome first person action.  The bulk of the game is played from a first person view, except when you're interacting with the environment.  You can shimmy across ledges, use hang rails, climb objects, drag bodies and interact with various other items.  You can use several different melee and ranged weapons along with your fists.  You use the left and right triggers to throw punches, and the right thumbstick to choose different types of punches and combos, it works very well.  There are plenty of guns to keep you happy as well, all the weapons are fun to use and fit in nicely with the overall game.

You can use stealth to hide and sneak up on enemies.  You can perform quite or loud neck breaks on unsuspecting foes.  The gameplay is solid and brutal fun, and will keep you hooked for the entire journey.

It's engrossing and intriguing from start to finish, with a great story, brilliant graphics, and extremely fun gameplay.  Please do yourself a favour and get this game today!
