Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is a great game, although admittedly I was a bit underwhelmed in the beginning.  I was expecting it to be totally different to the old GTA's based on all the hype I'd read but the more I played the more I remembered how much I loved the distinct style only found in a Grand Theft Auto game.
Well, that doesn't mean there isn't much changes made to the game.  There's weapon and attribute upgrading (things like lung capacity, muscle, sex appeal etc.) that get upgraded during play and don't interrupt gameplay.  Apart form that there's the inevetible bunch of new cars, boats, planes (jumping out of planes is one of my favourite things about this game) and some cool little vehicles like the bycicle and go-kart.  The graphics are looking much nicer but there are still lots of blurry textures and sometimes people move kinda wierd in the cut scenes...  This is just funny though and doesn't hurt the game.  The pop-up does though, and I was really hoping they would fix this but oh well, can't have everything.
I can understand this though as the game is absolutley massive.  Three cities instead of just one plus all the stuff inbetween make for one hell of a massive playground, just try not to lose a vehicle out in the middle of nowhere, it can be a long walk to a road (well not that long, the map is implemented superbly).  Sometimes the countryside can get frustrating when there's ages to walk to the next road, or swim to the next bit of shore..  so you can walk to the next road but it's not too bad, espicially when the countryside looks this good.
Well I've gone on about it for a while and I haven't mentioned the missions or even the side missions yet but they're set out much the same as the previous games and a few of them are extremely frustrating.  Just like the last games.

San Andreas is everything it should be; a sequel to an already great game that fixes many of the previous flaws (swimming, climbing)and adds a whole bunch of new features that work great.  The only things keeping it from perfection are the patchy graphics and sometimes frustrating gameplay caused by the numerous glitches.  It's still a must buy if you're into the genre.
