The Graphics and interface they promised. . . they delivered! Most beautifull RTS only bested by 3d shooters and other genere.
NOW GAME WISE. Very eaay to beat. I usually jump straight to skrimish mode and put the computer on hard . . . that's just me. Beat the game on the third try something I had never done before on any PC game; maybe i'm getting better at figuring out games or this one is easy. The campaign is fun but not challenging at all. (I have only finished the Good) Your worst worry is keeping the hero hobbits from rushing agains trolls. Besides that it is a constant ass beating of the comp even at hard.
But it is fun.
I can see some problems in Multiplayer and skrimish modes as heros are too expensive and not powerful enough in the first stages to warrant their price. So it becomes a lower unit melee frenzy until you can buy powers and turn the tide. Using the balrog or the dead is a game ender.
Other issues. Play it on a penthium and it wont crash LOL. Great sound and music, just like the movies. Battle scenes are amazing!!!
Buy it for the fun beauty factor, Go for WCIII or ROME TW for strategy and tactical combat.
