I personally was not overwhelmed by Half-Life2.  I just didn't meet up to the standards that I am used too.  Hopefully HL3 will rise to the occassion and assert itself as HL1 did. 
Now viewing this game in a overall point of view.  There are a lot of gliches to this game that really need to be looked into and its frustrating as a player for your screen to freeze up just as you are getting even minutely into the game.  Better luck on the next one.
