'God of War' Quit possibly the Greatest Action/Adventure game of all time! God of War is the perfect blend of brutality and sophistication. God of War offers something that is incredible and more dominant than even being the Hulk.
You will feel the rage, anger, fury, brutality and power of Kratos the badass, larger than life most intimidating main character ever created in a video game. Kratos is not a good guy, but it is a fact that you will like him bad. A spartan warrior who falls prey to the evil of Ares, the God of War by his own hands. Accidently killing his own family, Kratos is bound for revenge and nothing can stop him.
The game's graphics are better than the best. The game offers the most beautiful and advanced visuals ever made especially the FMVs, they feel like they came straight from the Playstation 3. There is no other game on any console that ever stands equal to the graphical power of God of War. The graphics consume every bit of power from the PS2 but amazingly runs smooth with almost no loading times and no frame skip. The atmospheres and the environments in the game will make your eyes addict and you will love to check out the beautifull setting and the minor details on levels and characters again and again e.g. You will love the extra sheen on the Blades of Chaos, Kratos's main weapons. Kratos himself is simply but aristocratically designed giving him the look of a savage greek age behemoth. There is also something very very extraordinary about the whole atmosphere, it feels like the ancient Greece has flung into modren world. So its ancient Greece with the charm of modren day lights. Awesome!
The sound is in a class of its own. From the voice acting to the over whelming Orchestral background music to the sound of the blades cutting through the air everything is Perfect. The original orchestral score of the game is without a doubt legendary stuff. You have never listened to such impressive music in an action game of this style. The sound of action is also topnotch. Just listen to the fiery blades slicing through flesh and bones. Even the minutest sound detail is notable like how original is the sound of the blades striking on an iron fence.
The gameplay is the core of a game and like its all other issues God of War tops that too. Imagine what can you do with two wickedly sharp mammoth blades that are chained to your hands and move at your will. The gameplay is revolutionary creating some of the most devestating combos ever. The real time slow motion effects just make you love it and hungry for more. The unique and barbaric fighting engine will make you blood thirsty for undead warriors, gorgons and the entire list of Greek mythology's creatures ranging from Cyclops to Crebrus Dogs. The game's setting is so powerful that you will feel like the lava erupting from a live volcano that is going to level everything in its way. You can't get the feeling of being in charge better than this. No other game creates this feeling of absolute dominance like God of War does. So go ahead and discover your darkside.
The character of Kratos is so much indulging and involving. He has no fear and no equal. You feel like the hero a big budget Hollywood epic adventure. Kratos is not your usual guy instead he is par with guys like Solid Snake, Dante and Max Payne and creates his distinct juggernaut like identity that makes him stand out. The Blades of Chaos are the perfect weapons for a cruel and ruthless barbarian like Kratos who is always on an onslaught. The controls are as smooth as they get. You can move and strike in 360 degrees just by a slight push of the left analogue stick even during the execution of a combo. Pressure sensitivity of Dual Shock 2 is used to the max. Just try Kratos from taking a step to running and you will get the idea.
The game is virtually perfect and apart from my descrption it can be judged by the long list of awards it has won including the best game of year 2005 from acclaimed game companies and magazines.
By releasing this game Sony shuts everbody's mouth who say that PS2 is inferior to other current gen consoles. Believe it or not but there is nothing like God of War out there. Its a next gen game on a current gen and proves that PS2 still has alot left in it. 'God of War' has its own over the top caliber and no other game is even near it. The one word to describe 'God of War' is 'PERFECT'.
