This game feels so serious, so intelligently made, so complex in many ways and I respect Valve alot for that. Half-Life 2 in my mind was the greatest game of 04 and I'm going to explain why I've chosen this game as the top dog. The thing that I love the most about the game is that it's single player oriented and it delivers the goods because some games need a multiplayer mode to get appreciated which was the case of Halo 2 but that game was multiplayer oriented so that was okay but without it, I would of given Halo 2 a pretty solid 6-7 out of 10. Now Half-Life 2 gets credit for continuing what was again a very awesome Single Player mode in Half-Life 1. I'm a big storyline junkie and I'm very satisfied with the way the single player mode of HL2 progresses. I liked it so much that I think Valve should make a 3D movie of the whole game like the Final Fantasy movie. The physics are down right awesome just as much as the Artificial Intelligence which is the best seen in a game yet in my view. Graphics are also very good!.. The Best! and just like Doom 3 the minimum graphics aren't that hard on lower quality video cards since I played this on almost all medium settings at 800x600 with a nVidia Geforce FX5200 AGP8x 128 mb. For some the Single Player can be considered short for others long and for people like me..just fine. Since this happens nearly right after Half-Life 1 well the weapons haven't all changed such as the Shotgun but the game introduces new ones like The Gravity Gun which is really fun to use. Maybe you've seen a rip off of this weapon in Id's Doom 3: Ressurection of Evil. Half-Life 2 Deathmatch didn't interest me at all but CounterStrike Source did! It comes in the same package as HL2 but I can't include a CSS review here.

I'm not strong on replay but the thought of redoing the single player mode on a more difficult setting is very tempting for me right now.. This is excluding Half-Life 2 deathmatch and CS:S
-Fun Factor: 9/10
Great from start to finish! The gameplay is so fun that the game doesn't seem linear at all with numerous areas that never look alike.
Closing Comment:
This game is the greatest game on the shelves for now in my view, every single aspect of the single player mode is awesome and few bugs are to be found. During the whole campaign you feel like you ARE Gordon Freeman and you also feel very important in the story and you are. I absolutly recommend this FPS to any FPS fans out there no question about it... Even looking in the future to games like Quake 4, F.E.A.R and more.. none seem close to challenging HL2's greatness.
