You are alone and outnumbered and will to rely on your senses against enemies with every available weapon, vehicle, and strategy to survive tropical wilderness. This reimagined storyline combines awesome open environments, various enemies, and unexpected plot twists for an unforgettable game experience.

Far Cry is one of the most beautiful games on PC hardest. So how do you make another far cry game with the same beautiful graphics and great A.I., but with a whole bunch of new features incorporated into it. And try to revolutionise the whole First Person Shooter genre for the xbox. It isn't easy but somehow Ubi Soft made it happen. They revamped the whole far cry game and made it totally new and improved for an awesome Far Cry experience. Ubi Soft has incorporated new vehicles and weapons, and the newest weapon...Yourself! As the predator, super fast agility and un-human type powers. Like the saying goes 'Hunt or be Hunted'. All of the beautiful graphics are still here and amazing environment and of course 5.1 audio surround sound. The A.I. isn't as hard this time around but they still get the job done. Also they added one of the most addictive modes in the game, 'online Multiplayer' which is much more fun this time around, but you only have 4 options to choose from. Either way its one heck of a game with just minor flaws.

The graphics for this game are just as pretty and remarkable as the pc version. There's lots of green grass all over the place and lots of trees to hide behind or set up traps. The water and environments are extremely impressive, but during the game do get a little repetitive. There's great use of bump mapping and amazing use of the lighting effects which are all pretty remarkable and definitely hard to accomplish. Your weapons are nicely detailed and crafted, also the vehicles are very nicely detailed and real fun to drive around in. Your character(which you never see) is only noticeable by his hands and his pants, but can't see his face, and ironically no mirrors around to see how he looks like. His hand looks a little weird, like as if there was to much brown or orange mixte together. Some enemies looks really nice, same with the predators real creepy stuff. But when really up close there ugly, so shoot them from far back. They look like rag dolls when they blow up or just get hit by your claws and get thrown really far. There aren't much cutscenes, and when there are there mostly told from first person view perspective and are real interesting to listen and look at its kinda like breakdown or chronicles of Riddick. There are very nice gun effects and muzzle flashes. There are lot's of explosions to be enjoyed here, lot's of barrels to blow up. When you become the predator your characters hands become much uglier which brings out some cool like effects. When in the beautiful water(under it) the enemies might spot you, or they might not, but when they do, there gonna shoot and you'll see bullets whizzing by your head, which it really intense. Overall the graphics are top notch and environments are really nice, but get a little repetitive. Good job Ubisoft.

The sound is another incredibly amazing part of the game. As we all know, ubisoft is known for some of the best sound design in the whole gaming industry, especially first person shooters. The sound is so incredibly intense and breathe taking, the amazing use of the 5.1 audio surround sound make it an incredible experience to witness for yourself. The vehicles sound really real(once when the horn was honking in the game I thought it was outside and realized that it wasn't after a brief look out my window) and all guns and helicopters also sound really, really cool. They've also added some wildlife sound effects, when in the jungle alone, which I thought was pretty interesting. The water also has its own interesting little sound. Like I said before, there are a lot of explosions to see and hear, just watch your back. The predator effects also sound interesting with its grunt of melee attack. The voice overs are really well done, there all extremely clear, especially your character. Your character sounds alive and makes for one cool and bad ass character. While wandering around the area you might stumble upon an enemies conversation and there rather funny, and will definitely make you laugh. The music is also incredibly amazing, and might sometimes freak and creep you out. Either way amazing sound. Great job ubisoft.

The gameplay is just about a run and gun shooter or get from point A to point B. But you can get to those points by any means necessary, if your on a lake you can either take a boat or a hovercraft or just swim, which will take a heck of a lot longer to get to where your suppose to go but it's a possibility. Same with being on the terrain, you can take a jeep or a four wheeler or just plane run(which is what you'll be doing half way threw the game) and kill hordes and hordes of enemies, which is another thing, there are so many enemies to kill, that the game gets really repetitive, there's not much to do but to hide behind a tree or rocks and get shot at, or as the predator just run right threw the hole level without killing anyone or just a few, the game gets tougher and tougher when you progress threw it, you get to fight more then just grunts or mercs or special op, but I won't tell you who. After killing the 100th enemy the game get's repetitive, you also get a mission where you have to protect a hostage and is just a little difficult because that hostage doesn't listen to you and just runs right threw the enemies gun fire, you get a couple of boss fights, some are easy and some are difficult(especially the last one) but there all possible. The ending is a 'real killer' and you wouldn't want to miss. Other then that, the game does get a little repetitive, but its still a lot of fun.

The A.I. is at times a little dumb, but 90% of the time there really competitive and get tougher and tougher when nearing the end. When they have there own little conversation, they sound dumb and idiotic, but when they start firing on at you, you'd better take cover or kill them before they get the drop on you. So this game has very tough A.I. and you will restart a level once or twice because of that. Overall great.

The controls are just like any other first person shooter game. Right trigger is to shoot and place traps, left trigger is to throw your grenades or hold you breathe when sniping and to reverse when in a vehicle. The A button is to jump or feral jump when a predator and when your in prone mode you press A to lie on your back which is a cool little feature. B is to melee attack. X is to reload or enter and exit a vehicle. Y is for predator abilities, so it has Feral Run and feral sense. The black button is to take out your trap which is a tree branch. The white button is to switch between grenades or rocks. D-pad is to switch weapons and take out binoculars. Left analog stick is to move or kneel, right analog stick is to looks around.

Now for the online multiplayer. The online is a lot of fun but you only have 4 options to choose from which is a little disappointing, the options are, team chaos, chaos, steal the sample and predator(which is like capture the flag). Although all you have are 4 options to choose from, there still a lot of fun especially the unique predator mode. In predator mode the host chooses how many predators he would like, then when the game starts one of the players(including you and the host) will become a predator. Predators must kill all the mercs before they power up the generator, when killing a merc they stay dead and don't turn into a predator or respawn, when a predator gets killed they respawn and continues killing. There are a lot of maps to choose from. Including some customizable one's with the map maker which is fun to make a map with.

So overall its one fun game with a lot of repetition, but if you like shoot em ups, you'll have lots of fun.

8.5/10
