Yes, there have been many WWII shooters released. To be perfectly honest, I thought this game would be more of the same. I was dead wrong. In actuality, Brothers in Arms is a gritty, bloody, and realistic take on the days following D-Day. The men yell, swear, and cry. They reflect on death and their fallen breathren as real soldiers did. Also, unlike most WWII games, you can not take on the entire German army yourself, if you try to go it alone against two Germans, there is a decent change you will die. Flanking tactics and the utilization of cover and armor are a necessity. This game is a breath of fresh air to a stale genre and is a must for any war fan.
