Oblivion saves XBOX360!
I am sitting here contemplating my last week. It has been a high week and a low week all at the same time, and all by the hands of Microsoft. You might wonder what thisv has to do with the gate of Oblivion, but i faced my own gate in more then one way.

I picked up the console together with Oblivion and Ghost recon.

Of course as an RPG gamer, that would have been the first thing to do, but i did not. As the machine got connected, my first shock came. I was told that my full 360 version would come with HDMI, and i only got the component cable. This was a little shock so back to the store i went. They told me, the RGB component cable was all they delivered. There was no HDMI cable with the 360. This was shocking after all the news, because i bought a $3000 new TV with my 360 so that i could enjoy the ability of the 360. And learning that none of my old XBOX games work on the 360 did not help any.

Now you might wonder, what does this have to do with Oblivion? Well if you just spend $4000+ to enjoy gaming, while $2000 would have sufficed, then i reckon you would feel the hurt too. So when i started Oblivion, i was not feeling to good.

Boy oh boy did this game cheer me up.

This is how i envisioned the perfect RPG. Graphically this game is beyond anything i have ever seen. The artwork of the interface, the control of the character, the way we travel, walk and explore. This game is a total unique way to play a game. So vast and so open. Each place so unique and so different and challenging, that you will wonder how can you live outside the realm of Oblivion. The music is ok, the special sounds good and the gaming and playability is just too overwhelming to ignore.

Here is the bottom line. This game just helped me getting over losing $2000. That is an achievement of unparalleled proportions. Have you ever seen a game do that to you?

I reckon if there is one game you could afford, then this is the game you should afford. I have no idea what Bioware is up to, but equalling this game will require a Titanic achievement. I can safely say that Bethesda just entered the gaming billboard top 100 at the first position.
