This is definately a sleeper rpg for the 360.I originally rented it cause I was dying for the first truly great rpg for the system, and while it isnt what Final Fantasy has been to the PS2,it's definately a good start.I heard that the english voice acting was bad in this game,so I immediately set the voices to Japanese, and I must say,I love it his way (I will play it with the english voice settings my 2nd time through).Anyway remember how I said I rented it?Well I became so attached to the story and the characters that I went out and bought it.It wont be everyones cup of tea,but if you give it time and play a few hours into it (Like when you face the Ice Queen) it will draw you in even more. The play field is kinda set up in a strategic way, meaning you get to choose where you wanna fight from within the grid field and then you attack (Or you can just select for the computer to fight for you, good for when you run into a lot of fights within a short time). If you happened to find a golem (Think Yugio, although not as kiddy) you can have him fight along side you and make the battles even better (Theres even an online component where you can fight your friends with Golems you find). The music is pretty much standard rpg fare and the controls are solid,so you shouldnt accidently press the wrong button and use something you didnt mean to.The graphics are really similar to FFX's and in most cases even better! The story line has some weak links in it (I dont see why they just "Had" to include a gay character,he just seems so forced and stereo typical),but it isnt enough to turn me away from this game. While this game wont set the rpg world on fire,I think it's important we support a game like this, just to show publishers we as gamers want something new,and not the same rehashed garbage year after year (*cough the Final Fantasy series cough*).I give this game a 8.5 out of 10.
