Chaos Legion is an action game brought to you by Capcom, creators of games like the Resident Evil series and the Devil May Cry series.

You are Sieg, a very noble character with a dark past, which you can only discover as you progress throughout the game. He wields the power to summon powerful forces known as 'Legions' that may assist him in battle. The story revolves around Sieg in pursuit of Delacroix. A man who was his best friend but was drawn towards the darkness due to an incident that occurred to their friend the fair Selia.

The graphics are absolutely beautiful. Yet, the emphasis lies with the main character, the Legions and the enemies. The background is not so impressive. Tall buildings and gigantic gates very much looks like cardboard standing there. The lighting of each move/spell etc is very pretty and the realism is quite limited such as shadowing and the flowing of the main character's clothing as he moves.

Sounding certainly reaches the player's expectations. The voice acting is convincing and keeps to the portrayal of each character. Enemy screeching, blasting noises, and character cries are nicely recorded. The game certainly has a soundtrack to match. The music is enjoyable and reflects the fast-paced action needed to keep the player alert. With a gothic/religious theme being thrown in your face the Latin vocals give you that gothic feel.

Gameplay is very simple. Each time you reach a new area in each stage you are given a task. Be it annihilate all the enemies or a particular target. It is a hash and slash game, hence part of it's title 'Chaos' based upon the chaotic atmosphere that you are placed in. You are given the opportunity to control your Legions's actions for example you may encounter a difficult enemy, so you may command your Legion to destroy that enemy more effectively than yourself. Otherwise if you 'lock on' a targeted enemy they will help you defeat that that target alongside of you. During intermissions of each completed stage you are able to level up your Legion to be stronger at the cost of experience points that they gain. So the more your use your Legion the more they will gain experience as well as yourself.

Replay value is dependant upon the player. If you are a perfectionist there is definitely a challenge every time. At the end of each stage you are given a ranking of your performance The highest rank is AA+. You will be tested on various actions such as e.g. stage time, smash count and Legion use.

Overall, I feel this is a good game, but not one I can call great. It is highly repetitive, the enemies as well as the background. If you ask me, the background was very, very similar to Devil May Cry 2. That is a real let down, because every game should have it's own individuality. But it's not surprising seeing as they are both games from Capcom. You can tell after four stages that it will be over soon. If you really put your mind to it, it is a very short game.

The story might appeal to those who like a bit of mystery and revenge and fantasy all in one, but it depends upon the player.
