I got the first halo as soon as it was released, and i always like playing it on the internet with my tunnel software.I was really looking foward to the release of halo 2,so when i first put it in and got started. I was not sure about the opening story with the covenant, but when it came time for action i knew that i was in for some good old fasion shootin halo style, naturally i just went with the weapons that i got from the weapon holders.I was just too excited to get started, did not have time to look around.I was suprised to see the battle rifle had a scope and shot three round bursts, then at the same time i was furious about the long range full auto assault rife, but the battle rifle makes up for it with the scope and deadly accuracy. Then i switched to the smg, and i loved the sound of that bad boy and the recoil made me shoot at things that were not there. Then as the game progressed i noticed the other weapons the magnum was striped of its scope and the shotgun seemed to remain the same, while you can now lock onto targets with rocket launcher and sadly the sniper rifle no longer has night vision.New additions to the covenant weapons are the covenant carbine wich is semi automatic and sports a scope, then theres the particle beam rifle that is the covenant sniper rifle, the brute shot that is a semi automatic grenade launcher, the fuel rod gun that is alot like a rocket launcher and the great energy sword that will kill one hit most of the time.

There are two versions of the warthog in halo 2 one with the mounted machine gun and the other with a gauss cannon, those are the only additions to the human vehicles. The covenant has had some additions with the likes of the spectre wich carries two riders and a gunner to operate the turret in the rear, and you can now use the wraith the dreaded tank from halo, with its speed and strafing abilty it can be a descion wether to use it or the scorpion in some situations, the same goes for weapons too.

Gameplay-With the abilty to dual wield, and the new weapons, and the havoc engine upgrading the halo action with exploding vehicles and moveable objects and being able to board enemy vehicles and beat them to death or plant a grenade. The multi player in halo 2 is great,it sure beats the way we did it with the first one. With all the additions it makes it seem all new again.

Sound-The ambience is great from whistling sounds of wind to sounds of wildlife and water to the sound of war.
The guns also have upgraded sound it seems.

Graphics-The rain and snow is great, and so is the explosions. But the textures just dont live up to the orignal halo. And the ocasional split in the graphics and in cinematic scenes. But the levels are larger and look better than ever.

All in all halo has evolved to halo 2.

So i give it a 9.2
