I dont think there is any doubt that msg3 is a brilliant game.
Music and sound is spot on and really adds to the feel of the game. Voice acting could be better, i felt snake sounded slightly grainy. The graphics are superb and very easy on the eye, giving the game a real pollished look having fully exploited the ps2 and taken it to its limits.
Although the obvious flaw of the camera can we quite annoying, I feel that this makes the game more challenging, and does not necessarily spoil the gameplay ( I feel the loss of the radar also adds to the games difficulty) which is a gd thing. Overall the gameplay is excellant and realistic although i dont feel there is enough of it; the new camoflauge system gives more of a stealth initative to the game and makes it more enjoyable- Killing men never gets tedious and is infact addictive- The way blood spurts out of the victims neck as snake slits his throat is terrific.
The new stamina bar gives the player something extra to think about and i think is a good extra; as is the idea of snake catching or killing his own food.
The new cure mode is also a good extra and it really does make the game feel and seem more realistic.
Although bosses are enjoyable to face, they are not much of a challenge compared to bosses in the other msg's. To say i died less than 10 times in defeating all the bosses put together makes my point. However i imensly enjoyed my battle with the end, he was easy to beat, but it was time consuming (over 45 mins) which made it feel like a real sniper vduel. The fact that a huge area was designated for 1 boss fight i think is fantastic, and that fight really does show off all the games different aspects.
Therefore overall the game deserves a 9.5 out of ten. It only missed out on a ten because i still think mgs needs to have more emphasis on gameplay than fmv's

Although cqc i feel needs to be expanded. There are a lot of diffrent ways to use this through grabbing an opponent but once it gets to full frontal attack the punch punch kick combo does seem tedious. -- I would like to be able to use some of the moves shown in the skirmishes between snake and the boss in the fmv sequences
