Call Of Duty, a WWII fps set in Europe, is an absolute phenomenon. Everybody loves it. Its single-player campaign is an extremely intense game with impressively exciting and emotional sequences. Multiplayer lets you be a war hero with up to 50 friends, playing the classic Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Capture the flag modes.
Visuals: We all remember the last WWII shooter, MOH: Allied Assault, right? Remember its blocky textures and minimal real time lighting? Haha! I remember too. It's a good thing Call Of Duty has amazing particle effects and award-winning gun models! A huge part of the game its just crouching down in the middle of a war-torn European village and staring at your gorgeous Thompson sub-machine gun.
Gameplay: This is a WWII FPS, right? Ok, let me guess what the gameplay is like right now: Are you a one man army, battling thousands of Nazi soldiers with you arsenal of ten weapons and infinite supply of ammo as you manage to land perfect headshots on every enemy that walks right out onto your path of arcade-style FPS destruction? Huh? NO! NO! NO! Call Of Duty is NOT that game! You fight alongside you SQUADMATES this time around! Now, you can only carry TWO weapons at a time! Call Of Duty does NOT give you infinite supplies of ammo, and finally, your enemies are SMART! How's THAT for you?
Sound: Majestic orchestrial music roars up as you flank your hard-to-fool
enemies and fire off the last few shots in your M1 Garand into an tight area flooded with Germans. I wanted to buy the soundtrack to the game I loved it so much. And guess what. I really did want to buy the soundtrack. Not joking.
Overall: Not AGAIN! A campaign that's only 8 hours long? UGH! Oh well, the multiplayer will keep me at it for another 5 years or so.....
