Let me start off by saying that I am the type of player that doesn't well...play much. In this sense, I like my games very traditional. As you can tell with this game centering around a pair of bongos(or you could go for the cheaper way and play without them, honestly taking away the fun from the game) this game is somewhat unique. The only way I got to play this was from my little brother. He plays drums, and was SO hyped about getting this game. He bugged me for at least a month before I gave in. I ended up really liking it. Even if you dislike music, you may find fun in this. Since there is no other way to explain the gameplay, there are a bunch of symbols(like DDR, except with circles) that continuously keep coming, and you have to time the hitting of the left or right side of the bongo or clap(yes, you actually clap) with the corresonding symbol. Now for the songs that go along with the fun. Let me put it in a way in which it will not confuse you. You will either not care for the originality of them, or you will hate them. Nowadays in a world of rap and hip-hop, most people will not even know the songs. They include different songs like "Louie Louie", "Whip It", "We Will Rock You", and "Wild Thing". There is not a set style of songs, so I can't sum up all the songs. None of them bothered me, and I truly enjoyed the game! There are little mini-games invovled with Donkey Konga, but the real source of enjoyment is in the songs. Of course, there are different difficulty levels to keep you busy. You complete the songs to get coins, from which you can purchase different types of bongo sounds and mini-games. As for the visuals, there really is nothing. Anyways, most, if not all your focus will be on the oncoming symbols. The songs' sounds remain true, but the singers for each are not the real ones. Yet again, it will either bother you or not. For any gamer, this is a great game to go out and at least try once. You may like it in all of its quirkiness!
WARNINg: This is typed from a "fun factor" perspective that you are playing with bongos.
