When I first played the Wind Waker I wasn't actualy sure of what to think of it, but after much debate with myself (and others) I've decided to give this semi-marvel of a game high recomendations. The reason I use the phrase "semi-marvel" is because, like other sequals, it is afraid to evolve and relies on a weak gimic (cel-shaded graphics). Even though The Wind Waker did very litle to move forward in its gameplay it is still a blast to play.
sound:
The sound in The Wind Waker is as good as all the other Zelda games so if you liked the sound in the Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, or any other Zelda game you should love the sound in The Wind Waker (though a friend of mine finds the noise that comes on when your health is low rather annoying).
graphics:
The Wind Waker contians some of the best visual effects in any game you can find out there today. Also, the cel-shading has been done crucialy well and anyone holds the graphics as there only reason for not getting this game should be thoroughly disapointed with themselves.
controls:
The controls are the best in any adventure/role-playing game I've played. The Wind Waker has an adjustable camra that can zoom right up into his face and zoom out so far it looks like you have a top-down view like in the old Zeldas. Plus, the X, Y, and Z buttons are all limitidly customizable (you can set one of many items to these).
gameplay:
Pretty much The Ocarina of Time on melted ice (it's "sweet"). Even though the gameplay is fantastic, this game is too short and could use some vioce overs.
Summary: +graphics/visaul effects, +classic Zelde sound, +contols, +some what engaging gamplay, -unevolved, -short, -reading makes me sleep.
