In my last review of SA1,i said they had taken a step forward towards a good game, and they went all the way up the stairs on this one. SA2 is a good upgrade from SA1, but just a small change in the adventuring type areas before the levels (GRRRR)
On the plus, they dont have as many stupid characters, and they have levels that you have objectives in, rather than just getting there. Then special upgrades for your character is available too, which is good to get certain things in the levels.
Those little chaos got even cuter! or evil!? You can decide your Chaos outcome by which type of character takes care of it. For instance, raising a pet by tails, and less by Dr.Robotnik, the Chao will, possibly, become an angel chao. It will also like tails more.
Or, you can chose the path of the evil. Again, with the same scenario; Robotnik raises a Chao, it becomes evil.
Then their are 2 different places for those chaos to go to. A stairway leads upwards (heaven) and downwards (a graveyard, hellish type area) and will unlock as you raise your Chao to a certain alignment.
AND, when you destroy monsters, you can collect little colored cylinder things that can help increase your Chaos Stats (i'll get to that in a bit), and little animals that you can give your Chao to help it (like the last SA.)
Those little cylinders dont change the chaos appearance, but it's stats increase a bit. Its very useful during races. Its so hard to explain, but this game is tight.
SEGA knew DC was coming to a close, sadly, and pushed out this game as their last hit. If DC had stuck around longer, then it would be a game every owner would proudly say they have. This game just goes down in Game History, and if i could, this game deserves an 11. But 10 will do fine lol.
