Based on all of the praise and high reviews this game received, I was expecting to be blown away by this title. After having just finished the game I don't see what all of the fuss is about. I didn't hate it, but maybe my expectations were set too high.
What I didn't like (just my own opinions):
-I won't retell the story here because it's already been said in all of the previous reviews, but I thought it was kind of stupid.
-The opening movie took what felt like a half an hour--Let's get to the game already!
-The girl was so slow and dragging her around was very tedious.
-The ghosts would pop up at the most predictable times and they just looked so silly.
-The missions were really monotonous--For example, the west tower obstacles were almost exactly the same as the east tower.
-The graphics were very fuzzy, especially in the water areas.
-There was no music and hardly any sound effects. The howling wind and the boy saying "Oompah" got old really fast.
-The game was very short.
What I did like:
-The difficulty of the puzzles were fairly hard. I was stuck not knowing where to go next quite a few times. I had to slap myself in the head saying 'why didn't I think of that?' on more than one occasion.
-While I didn't enjoy dragging around the girl, I liked how the vibration of the controller made it feel very real--especially when catching her from falling.
-The scenery was pleasant to look at.
-I enjoyed the free reign and movements over the terrain.
So while I don't think this is the most "beautiful game" ever made, it is still fun to play for a couple of hours. My rating: 6.
