Have you ever watched "The Sopranos" or "The Godfather" and wondered what it would be like to work for the Mafia? Of course most of us would never consider doing it in real life but how about in a video game? Well, Mafia gives you that chance!
Story
You play Tommy, a man who finds himself in an unfortunate predicament. He's been part of the Mafia and is now in a lot of trouble. The game opens as Tommy goes to a detective to tell of his involvement with the Mafia in return for police protection for him, his wife, and his daughter. You will play out his story that he tells the detective.
Game Play
As Tommy, you will be able to strafe from side to side, shoot, run, walk, and a number of other things. Your weapons range from a baseball bat to the tommy gun which I consider my favorite weapon in the game. A major part of the game is driving as every time you leave for a mission, you will be driving. A job consists of leaving the don's café, driving to the job, doing the job, and driving back. Many jobs call for robbery, assassination, chasing someone, and many other jobs you would expect to do in the mafia. Since the game takes place in the 1930s you can expect the classy cars from the time period. Another good thing about the game was that, the frame rate was not slow.
Graphics
While not high quality, I consider the graphics pretty good. The cars, scenery, and people have considerably good detail.

I consider Mafia to be a great action game. I recommend this game for anyone looking for a game where you can be part of the mob. It is rated M for language and violence.
